Expedition snow leopard

Footprints in the snow

The snow leopard is one of the most threatened and at the same time one of the least known big cats on earth. Silent and generally invisible, it prowls across the “roof of the world”. Only its footprints give a clue to its existence – and its howls when seeking a mate. It sounds so human that hikers have sworn they had heard a Yeti.

In search of the “ghost of the mountains”

The snow leopard is a creature of mystery, surrounded by myths and legends. What kind of life does it lead? Why do we care about protecting a species that isn’t even native to our country? How and why is NABU working to protect snow leopards, and what can you do to help these animals?

Come with us on an expedition through the twelve countries where the snow leopard lives. Join us on a journey to inhospitable heights, through rocky chasms, over snowy mountainsides – and get to know this beautiful, mysterious big cat, an animal that needs and deserves our protection.

NABU is allowing the snow leopard’s voice to be heard. It’s not too late to save these mysterious big cats!
